It’s interesting to note that many people name childrens’ books as most influential in their lives. Richard Scrimger, author of The Nose From Jupiter talked about writing for children in the Humber College tent. Scrimger reminded us that writing for children is much more likely to influence a life than writing for adults. The best literary novel ever is less likely to be experienced as deeply as a good book in the hands of a twelve-year-old. The twelve-year-old is much more receptive to new and profound experiences.
