Word on the Street – Favorite Book Clips

This year the weather was perfect for Word on the Street. The crowds were thronging, children were laughing, musicians were playing… My only complaint is I couldn’t do it all. I bought magazines and books, met lots of nice people who publish literary journals and even wrote an impromptu poem. I also went book-buying bananas!

Earthquake concert a success

I attended a wonderful concert at Mel Lastman Square this Sunday to raise money for earthquake relief in Peru. The music ranged from jazz to contemporary, traditional to pop. Sunday I attended Kingship DeFacto by Adam Burgess at the annual Summerworks festival. This is a juried festival with considerable prestige in Toronto. The story is about Ben (Scott McCulloch), a wishy-washy politician under the influence of his powerful advisor Becker (Stephen Kent) who must decide whether or not to remove troops from the city
